A few minutes ago I was reading my favourite forum, ;) When suddenly I got a blue screen. I started to read it: "A problem was detected" Then the PC did a reset by itself before I could finish. Is there any way to find what was written on that blue screen. I know vista keep records of almost everything, but don't know were to look for it. I suspect the problem was caused by our miserable fluctuating power supply. Just curious what the blue screen said. I thought blue screens is a thing of the past.

I get a lot of them on my Vista... but that might be the hardware's fault as well. (It's an IBM)

Should be able to see critical system errors in the Event Viewer

In event viewer I found under Windows Logs - System:

The previous system shutdown at 08:38:02 AM on 2009/01/22 was unexpected.

I was hoping to find what was written on the blue screen. I'm sure it was caused by a power fluctuation. Having power problems since last night. Was just surprise to see blue.

I received my first BSOD on Vista in over a year when attempting to overclock the other day.

Usually problems with hardware, access to an illegal instruction or invalid script or code has been accessed are the most common causes of BSOD's.

AVG is also known to cause BSOD's with certain automatic updates in Vista.
