I want to see what file types are some of my files in vista, where do i go to turn of "Hide known file types"?

Open up windows explorer or computer> press alt on your keyboard and you should see all the normal options as it were in XP.

You click tools>folder options>view

At the first few options there's an option which says "always show menus" you can select that too if you don't want to press alt ;)

Same place as before: Control Panel > Folder Options > View > Advanced. Some where near the top is a tickbox option to show hidden files and folders.

Check at me, the big brain on vista.
