Vista (Home Edtion) cannot access XP Pro shares

Ok, so brother phones me and asks for help for a Vista Home Edtion laptop to access shares on a XP Pro pc.

I managed to get the Vista laptop to see the whole network (which is a miracle on it's own since I have limited experience with Vista networking), but now it cannot access the shares on any XP pc. Error is You don't have enough permissions to access these folders - something in that line. The laptop is wired connected.

What am I missing?? The network is not on domain. The workgroup name is the same.

Gawd I hate these types of calls.

Create a administrator user account on the Windows XP machine with the same username and password used to log into the Vista machine.

Or add the "Read/Write" permission to the "Everyone" group on the security tab of the shared folder settings.

Shot will try it. I think creating an admin account on the XP pc will probably do it, since not everybody must have access to that share.
