Vista & live messenger

Since I have had my acer3680 with vista pre-loaded, i have been unable to open msn live messenger.

First this error pops up:

A prob caused the prog to stop working correctly.

Then this one : To help u prot ur pc, DEP (data execution prevention) has closed messenger.

I have read about DEP and tried everything, but still unable to access msn.

Anyone else found this?

cmd prompt, run as administrator, then execute
bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff
will turn off DEP or NX permanently and allow messenger to work

cmd prompt indicates : c:/users/myname

how do i change that to run as administartor, im only user of notebook

start\all programs\accessories
scroll to the command prompt
right click and choose run as administrator
