Hi,

I was wondering whether one could actually download a media kit for Vista with SP2 integrated from Microsoft? I bought Vista Ultimate with SP1 integrated and would like to do a clean install instead of the "upgrade" to SP2.

Or can I order the media from Microsoft? Is there a website/telephone number?

I already run W7 at home, but at work I need to keep my one office laptop with Vista until W7 is officially available for purchase, which is around 22/10 according to another thread, company policy unfortunately...

Cheers R

Use a program call nLite to create your own installation disk of Vista SP2. There a tons of tutorials on how to do it :)

Thanks Ponder. I actually have used vLite in the past, it works OK but needs the WAIK, which I downloaded some time ago (more than 1Gb) but cannot find the download.

Is there a workaround or do I have to burn another gig at work :) ?

If you use an older version of vLite 1.1.6 then you don't have to download WAIK as the guy incorporated the required files into vLite until MS had words with him.

Or you could try this,

Install vLite 1.1.6, copy the required files. Remove 1.1.6 and install 1.2 copying the files back.

The 1.1.6 is no longer available from the official site but if you google vLite 1.1.6 you will find it available on other download sites.

OK got Vlite working, and have it open at the moment. When I try to integrate SP2 into the ISO by inserting it as a hotfix under "integration", I can only select either .cab or .msu file types. The SP2 file as downloaded from MS is a .exe file, which cannot be "seen" by the Vlite integrator.

Please help.

Thanks R
