I need serious help, my computer cant detect my router and im using an Ethernet cable,I even tried connecting to another computer but it still wont see anything.
Yes i installed driver for motherboard (nForce 650i) please help urgently..

Restore from the last backup point, this should sort you out. :)

Please don't do this, I know two people who tries this with vista on new Lenovos and all was lost.

Go to the right part of the forum maybe? Are you on the same subnet, IP range, etc?

I even formated and reinstalled but it oent work... isnt there anything i should enable or something?

You know that sign at the bottom corner that shows the 2 pc, when there is a network cable connected it shows right \? well with mine it doesn't...

I tried two different cables and it shows on the other pc just not this one....

Well then either your network driver's disabled, the card's deactivated in the bios, or it's dead.

Yes i think so, i never tried it before installing spbut i doubt that thats the problem and if its dean how do i test it?

I think Gru nailed it on the head there. As for it being possible that it's deactivated if it's onboard...last time I checked, onboard things needed drivers and whatnot as well. Maybe go look for drivers for Vista on the manufacturer's website.

u sure the cable your using is meant for router to pc and pc to pc?

have u test the cable and router on another system?

Click on the start knob. Right click on computer in the left column. Select manage from the pop up list. Click on device manager on the left of the Computer management snapin. Is your network card listed under the Network Adapters? If it's not then you have a driver issue or it's disabled in the BIOS.

If it's listed there then click the start knob and right click on Network. Select Properties from drop down list. Click manage network connections on the left hand side of the Network and Sharing Center snap in. If your network connection is listed but is greyed out then right click on it and select enable.

Otherwise your problem is beyond the scope of this cup of coffee and you need to give us more details. :D

there's your problem: Vista

Fsking brilliant post. For the first time someone is saying that Vista might have something to do with a random problem and not helping at all either.

There are about 100 far more obvious and likely problems.

ProjectX: nevermind, rather do what the last post said. :p

Look for a username and password field and enter the account details, save settings. See if there isn't a wizard in the router which will guide you, usually the first link ;)
