Preparing to remove can suck my cell phone charger!! Vista is so retarded with adding / removing apps and files... its REALLY getting to me! and the Windows installer!! Dont even get me started

GRAWRR!!! punches self in the face and passes out on the keyboardddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

Vista is actually working for me.. still performance issues with my machine.. but that's understandable.

WoW is running decently. :)

vista with sp1 and enough ram is turning out to be quite enjoyable for me

I agree.
I have no issues with "the Windows Installer". I'm testing a lot of software and sometimes install and remove 5 - 10 applications a day. No problems.

My nearly three year old notebook is happier with Vista than with XP.

And please this topic was probably discussed a million times. It boils down to(In no particular order) :)
1. Enough decent RAM
2. Enough decent RAM
3. Enough decent RAM

Vista is the devil....I hate it..For me it is nothing more than a heavy XP skin. :(

are you talking about the fact vista asks you those questions everytime?
cause thats very easy to remove

vista works fine for me with everything

games work stuff personal kuk

nothing xp can do better than vista

up time for vista for me is about 15 minutes now, better than the 3 minutes i used to have, hence the dedicated thread for bsods.

I have tested all components with the latest ntune, sadly all my stuff work.
So today i will reinstall vista from scratch, this will be my 6th reinstall of ultimate, yes vista is great for a year now but after sp1 and latest nvidia drivers, its disappointing.

But there is hope as i am now getting bsods in xp to,and this is very great news.I will be off to the dealer and give all my hardware back thats less than a year old-Me has 1 full year guarantee and mobo is a 3 year.......yes

Vista may be running great... but I still balk at the price. I am not gonna fork out over R6000.00 to upgrade all my machines to something like Vista. Esp. not when I had to do it to upgrade them all to XP anyway. Microsoft can kiss my donkey. I am sticking with XP and Linux. Maybe if they give Vista or Win7 away free... but not until then.

My Vista install probably works beacuse it has SP1 streamlined into it...

Anyway, I love Vista.

Runs fine, secure, games work very well...

I can also develop on it. VS 2008 works well, as does SQL 2005...

Vista > XP x Far

I regularly deal with people who have "Vista problems". In 60% of cases it's because they've loaded crapware on the machine and wrongly blame Vista. Remove crapware and all goes well. In 30% of cases a dose of extra RAM fixes performance issues. The last 10% are irremedially incapable of learning anything new and blame the technology. There is no solution for them.

Yes, Vista needs more memory than XP, which needs more memory than Win2K, which needs more memory than Win98/95, which needs more memory than Win3.11, which needs more memory than Win/386, which needs more memory than OS/2 ... DOS 1.1. That's the way of things with New Technology. Today I can buy 2GB of RAM for less than my first 32KB (yes KB) RAM upgrade on my Zilog Z1 CP/M 'microcomputer' in 1982.
