Vista RTM cracked by pirates before release

1) it has been released already, so it cant be cracked "before release". just because you cant buy it doesnt mean it isnt released.
2) it isnt cracked, you still need to activate.

i know it is probably inevitable that a workaround will be found, and i have a good idea on how it will be done (but that is my idea in my head for my indulgence only), but for the time being this article is inaccurate, and lastly, the same **** was reported on theinquirer.net yesterday, except without the sensationalism. http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=35679

<edit> if i remember correctly, a similar thing happened with xp, with various groups having a "cracked before release" version using a volume activation key (later to be known as "the devils own" key) history is just repeating itself. humans are still humans and we still get up to the same tricks:-) evolution is at a standstill, evidently.

Um. I would think if you cant buy it then it hasn't been released. Or at least it hasn't been released commercially for people to buy.. so for all purposes that it could serve, it has been cracked before release. The release refers to the release date that it will hit shops.. of course nothing can be cracked before it has been released internally in MS, because there is nothing to crack??

But if you still need activation then its pretty stupid :p
So no one has cracked that yet, and is this really the final release?

If you don`t activate it, you get a 90 day free trail.

Theres already a crack available for vista //evil laugh mwahaha
and also office 2007 also released with a crack :D
 
So there is no real way to get past that 90 Day trial thing.. but according to the web site you can just use their crack which swaps out the new files for Beta ones and then lets you use the Beta key.

So that, or 90 Days, should be more than long enough for a real crack to come out.

Hmm.. now im actually thinking of downloading this..
Anyone got a link yet, and just how big is this?

Theres already a crack out that disable the 90days activation and its 2.49gb :D

I don't get those speeds.. I'll just download it by using the rest of my cap and then running capped for the rest of the month and downloading bits every night or something :/

How did you get it so soon btw, not over iBurst I'm assuming?

It's funny how people see this as an achievement or a good thing, then turn around and complain about high prices :( Disappointing really.
I'll just buy mine and be done with it. Because believe it or not, This crack etc... will eventually get blocked or at least I hope it does :P

I have Vista RC2 64-bit.

It's pathetic, it doesn't look that great. When XP goes out of date ill move over to Mandrake.

I just have problems with people bashing Windows Vista or everything Microsoft in general when they have no experience of their own to base it on, or miss the point entirely.

And it's rather simple really, there still isn't an operating system that caters to as many people as Windows. If people would dedicate as much energy into developing something better, but they won't. They'd rather pimp Linux and it's superior security and stability, forgetting it's limited hardware support, it's almost zero tech support, it's haphazard updates, it's failure to be useful to the common man and it's tragic inability to play any useful games or have a descent graphics API, but oh, no, it's still so much better than windows, because it's "free". I'd rather pay R3K for Vista Ultimate than R20 for Linux any day, under any guise! :)

Me too!!!

My whole life is on my pc - and I'm quite happy to fork out R3000 for Vista Home Premium, or more, because I use my pc every day and can't live without it.

*Hey, it's much cheaper than buying a car - and I don't use my car as often as my pc!!
