Right, so I installed SP1 last night. restarted and BOOM, my network discovery is disabled. Fine, I'll enable it again...riiiiight....it says SSDP (or something) was stopped by the Data Execution Prevention thingy...

Anyone else had this problem? Got a fix? I tried a lot of stuff...not working. And DEP cannot be disabled...

On my intel boards, DEP can be disabled in the BIOS. Intel call it something else, though...'trusted platform module', 'active management technology', something like that - can't remember exactly.

You should be able to disable DEP within Windows as well.

1. Click Start
2. Click All Programs
3. Click Accessories
4. Right Click on Command Prompt
5. Left click on Run as Administrator
6. Click the Allow button if it asks you for permission
7. Type or copy and paste this into the command prompt window:

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

8. Hit enter and you should see the confirmation: Operation Completed Successfully
9. Reboot and DEP should be off.

Also see if any help can be found here. You may have already looked there.

AWESOME! Thanks a lot! :D

Will do this when I get home :)

Thanks again!
