Vista SP1 problems

Always had vista business on dual boot but never bothered to use it hence am happy with my SP3 XP ... Now this weekend decided to just have a look at it and kinda liked working on it for two days. After i configured and updated some of the programs/utilities for compatibility, i decided to also update to SP1 .. Took a bit while but finaly completed... To my annoyance, that was the worst move... Now amongst others, following are the applications which can't load (generate Application Error)

Sidebar.exe
RTHDCPL.exe
Google Talk
Outlook2007
Firefox
WMPlayer
Setpoitn.exe..

This means My PC is now useless ... What could have went wrong?

When you mean compatibility, do you mean compatibility mode for the programs listed.

I would try re-installing all the programs you mentioned (except the MS ones).

What it could mean is that something was running when you installed service pack.sometimes a anti virus can cause this.do it again.
