hi guys, nooed help with this one plz....i re-installed windows Vista and got all the updates, then did the regedit thing so that i can get SP1 through WU, but now i got all sorts of problems....:(

after i installed SP1 i installed all my drivers for my gfx, mouse, S/C etc.
i've got the X-Fi XtremeMusic soundcard, OEM, but the problem is i can't get any form of sound through my speakers??? i installed all the apps from the cd, downloaded the latest driver (dated 05/11/2007), installed it but still, no sound. when i tried to watch a movie there will also be now video?
windows keeps on asking me for the driver of the multimedia controller??
the driver installs correctly. my onboard soundcard did the same with the video problem, but not the sound, i could listen to music but not watch a movie...the sound will play, but no video display.....but after i installed DivX 6.8, everything worked.....only with my onboard SC though....
my X-Fi still gives me problems....does any1 know or has experiance with this problem and if so, plz assist me.......i'm really fed up...:(:(

Switch to XP
and check your spelling again. :D :D :D :D

Yeah x-fi and vista are like germany and the uk. I had to disable my onboard in the bios, update my drivers (also downloaded the new apps for it) and it still only half works. Haven't got round to sp1 but i'm thinking creative are gonna need new drivers.

Why on earth are you in such a hurry to run sp1 over vista? Did u have some kind of life threatning issue that u simply had to install sp1? With the reg hack? FFS why don't you just wait for MS to officially release it, without messing up yr regsitry.

This is a creative issue. Stop blaming every thing on vista and ms.

Sp1 has issues with certain drivers thats why MS delayed it to the general public.

For the record all my drivers and devices work fine under vista with sp1 but then I don't have a creative sound card.

you guys do realise that sp1 replaces the kernal of vista, and if you're running the cracked copy of Vista, it will shut you out, and any files in the documents folder will be locked and un-retrievable! Also, if you're not going to install sp1, and you just going to update vista, avoid KB940510 for exactly the same reason!...

Upgrade from Vista to DOS or XP. If you want XP to look "pretty" then install something like Windowblinds or any of the million other things.
