My C drive has 222MB of 17GB left. My downloads folder is only 2.5GB and none of my other folders are larger than 500MB combined. What the hell is going on here? The Windows folder is 10.2GB in size! Please help.

Mine is also around 6GB, but it's quite cut-down.

You will always have around 2-3GB for pagefile and more for recycle bin, previous versions and system restore.

you'll typically find between 4 and 9gb worth of files in the
windows\winsxs folder. (or is it windows\system32\winsxs?? anyway...)
shouldnt really delete them, but that folder is the 1 culprit (vista's dirty secret?) as it is destined to grow uncontrollably.

not properly managed like in xp...the thing just blossoms out of control.

222 gigs and your moaning about 10 gigs :p

Delete some porn.

Turn off system restore will free up some space. Mine is 7 gig but i have 300 gb veloci so space aint a problem.

x64 hogs a lot more space than x86 version of Vista.

Check how much of a pagefile you have...but don't reduce it too much. If indexing options contain a place with gazillion documents, then the index can also get pretty big.

10gig is a bit heavy.

I have no pr0n...well at least not on my C drive :p

Thanks guys, I'm downloading CCleaner now.
