Vista Vs XP - Benchmarks

Would these numbers change at all if you weren't using a DX10 card? Even though none of those games are DX10 anyway..
 
Most definitely. DX10 GFX card is suited to DX9Ex more than DX9 gfx cards. At this point the performance gains noted in Vista would be almost impossible on a DX9 class graphics card. Simply because the cores themselves were built around the limitations of the DX9.0c/XP.

However I will leave that up to the 2nd part of the benchmarks due soon.

Okay, well that makes sense. I also have a 7 series card, if you want to use one of those for your next comparison :)

But I have a number of ATI and NVIDIA cards to chose from. I will be testing on the X1950XT from tomorrow as it is, if anything closer to DX10 than a GeForce7 simply from a maths processing POV.
 
Oh.. no no I never actually meant it to read like that :p

If you took my card I wouldn't have a PC. I meant: If you would be so kind as to use a 7 series card (of your own) for a benchmark. Just if you hadn't decided yet. Any DX9 based card should give a better indication.

Yeah we'll have to see. However as usual with nvidia once you don't have latest and greatest they somehow seem to stop caring :(
They sure will improve GF7 DX9 performance in Vista but after a long time... I suspect it'll only get worse once they have top to bottom DX10 range...

That doesn't stop me from doing anything though reason I'm going with ATI is because the X1950 is just better at numbers than GF7 and those are very important in DX10 environment it seems.
