Hi,

This morning Vista downloaded a few updates and restarted my laptop.

Now, the network is dead, when I hover my mouse pointer over the network icon in the taskbar a little block comes up with this error message:

Connection Status: unknown
The dependancy service or group failed to start.

Both my wireless and lan dont work.
So i went to computer management, and checked wether all background services are running, and they were. I havnt disabled any.

At the moment, i only have limited access according to vista in the Network connections screen. no internet access at all.

the only sollution that i found was, is to do the system restore, but that takes too much time. i even googled, couldnt find any similar errors like mine. I also went back to the windows update screen to rollback a few updates, but that ended up giving me a blank screen.

im using vista home basic x64 on a acer aspire 7220 laptop.

Hope theres someone out there that could help me.

thanks in advance.
