there's a lot of other issues besides the compatibility. i won't be switching anytime soon. i'm rather waiting for Windows 7.

DirectX 10

Does Service Pack 3 for XP include DirectX 10?

If not, then I'll stick with Vista.

Microsoft has said in the past that they will not pass DX10 to XP, and i doubt anybody's ported DX10 to XP!.

XP vs Vista : My games works better in Vista!. I've been on Vista a year now, and the overall performance feels faster!. Yes, I've gone back to XP several times - just not the same! I'll try out SP3, just don't see the point of going back just for a service pack!

Perhaps Vista is a stepping stone to something better (like ME was, however ME was crap and nothing like Vista!) and i'll be glad to upgrade to the next thing!

If you don't like that use XP/ME/2000/98/95/3.1/DOS ...or simply invest in an old HP financial calculator ...zero eye candy there that you'd have to pay for.

Lol - slow is an understatement. And the lack of choice when buying from retailers really sucks. Remember when M$ said you can legally run 2000 with an XP license? It's time they said the same of Vista.
