Seven weeks ago, when we first reported Vista was causing many machines to stall indefinitely while deleting, copying and moving files, we were sure the problem was caused by a bug that would be fixed relatively quickly. After all, Vista is Microsoft's flagship product. It's also an operating system. And everyone knows deleting, copying and moving files are among the most basic tasks any operating system can set out to do.

Wonder when they'll fix that annoying problem?

Must be a rather large problem if it's taking this long for a patch to come out. You can be sure, however, that they are working hard on the said patch. This is the reason why I am waiting for at least Service Pack 1 to come out before using Vista.

It is pretty annoying, yet sometimes it hardly makes an impact, other times it's extremely frustrating.

Actually "stall indefinitely" is not a problem I have come across, there is a small time period sort of before and mostly after you copy or delete something when the prompt just hangs around.

it is largely dependent on your mother board.... anyway i uninstalled vista and reverted back to windows xp and the sheer speed of the OS was awesome.

When i upgrade I will ensure i get Vista compliant hardware. I am also going to wait for some software house *cough* Adobe *cough* to get their heads out of their asses and release some updates however i think they are hoping people are going to embrace CS3 (which does look **** hot).
