Does anyone know if Visual Voice Mail for iPhone is still available on the Vodacom network?
 
Does anyone know if Visual Voice Mail for iPhone is still available on the Vodacom network?
I had VVM previously but a resync of my SIM card removed it somehow. Now it’s impossible to activate despite Vodacom saying they still offer the service.
 
People actually use Voicemail is more astounding to me than this still (not) working.

VVM and Voicemail is very useful for me. 30-40% of my day is spent in meetings and as such I cannot take calls.

VVM was a great feature because the voicemails were right there in their own little tab in the phone app and all I needed to do was hit the play button. Now I have to dial 132 and follow prompts as well as be saddled with SMS notifications of new voicemails and missed calls.
 
So I've finally got this working again after numerous calls to Vodacom. I'm as happy as a pig in ****.

Very envious. I have tried numerous times. The latest story is that the service has been discontinued – which I know to be rubbish. Do you have any useful contact at Vodacom – or is it just endless calls to customer service.

No, I do not know anybody at Vodacom, I was just lucky enough to come across a lady named Pamela who knew what she was doing.

She activated it on her end because the 123 service is nonfunctional, a few seconds later I received the SMS that my mailbox had been upgraded to Visual Voicemail. An hour or so later when I checked the phone app it was active.

Maybe call again and ask them to activate the service called "Vodacom Visual Voicemail (VVM) Contract" on their end.

It is frustrating I know. Another consultant told me to activate it as if I were using an Android. When I told her that there is no app draw on iOS she told me go to settings and activate it from there. It was right there and then that I dropped the call. Another even told me to activate it via some app.

Good luck though.
