A snipped I heard on Sky News.

There are over 150 telephone companies in the UK. Now that’s competition!

Many are localised, but isn’t that figure just so healthly!!
 
Thus 400 000 customers per telco.

Here we are in SA where they tell us we only have room for 2 telco's at the amazing userbase of 20 000 000 to one...

True, but this needs to be done by households. There are 20 million residences in the UK, and I dunno, maybe 10 million business lines. Probably more.

30 million active lines gives you 200,000 households/businesses per telco. Telkom only have about 1 million active lines (altough I read somewhere it was 500,000), so the thought about dividing Telkom into 4 telcos was about right looking at the UK ratios.
