Busy watching the vitamania documentary and it was mentioned that
vitamins in the US are not required to be tested for safety or efficacy by the FDA.
This set my homeopathy/woo woo alarm off.

Does any one know what our situation here is?
Is there any testing process for Centrum and the like?

*Edit: In Australia and Europe as well

similar boat here if I understand.
Be wary.
Also if I recall from when I watched Vitamania you only really need to take supplements if you have a prescribed condition. For the majority of us, we probably do not need to pop the pills.

So much conflicting cases.
Too little vitamin C and you get scurvy, too much vitamin D means too much vitamin C is absorbed, you end up in hospital.

The manufacturing of vitamins is interesting as well.

Pretty much why I stopped taking supplements. They aren't necessary.

You don't need supplements unless you've been told you do. You get vitamin D just by spending about 20 minutes in the sun, Vitamin C we get enough of nowadays just by fortified drinks and such, rather don't waste money as it just makes expensive pee.
