VKom 403nr mobile router

Hey there.

I've just got a VKom 403nr from Takealot, it's a LTE MiFi router supposedly with NAS features built in, it takes a sim & a sd card.

Has anyone had any luck setting up the NAS on this router (on OSX). It takes my SD card fine, and I can see it via the admin interface, but there's nothing in the docs about how to use it as a NAS. Can't mount as Samba or FTP, and the network browser doesn't even see it.

I'm beginning to suspect all you can do is actually upload and download via the admin browser app, which is fairly pointless. Emailed Takealot & the manufacturers but I don't hold much hope out there. Even the internet knows next to nothing about this router. (Maybe I was the only person in the world dumb enough to think a NAS on a MiFi would be quite cool)

Heard back from the manufacturer (from Taiwan...asked, got a reply and then an answer from tech. Takealot, nadda, well done indeed)

No FTP, no Samba. Bit of a wasted effort really.

Bought this router today(takealot daily deal). The software refuses to install in windows 8. I have tried switching off antivirus, firewall. No joy. Anyone got an idea as to how I can install? The site is useless. Only has a manual

Software installs on Mac but does not run.
Similar problem using XP on virtual machine !!

Press the power button twice. Searching for the model number brings up vkom

hi how did you sort this out? I just bought the same/ similar modem.
it shows a 'pin locked' message on the screen
cant connect it to my Laptop to sort this issue out.
