Seems like every Jan Rap en maat has programming language. Fast forward 30 years from now and we'll probably still mostly be using C/C++ and Java for things that matter

Nothing wrong for wanting a C replacement :coffee:
C has a lot of momentum behind it, especially in the embedded world. It's also the lingua franca of the programming world. Been with us for over 40 years and runs most of the modern world. Oh and it's also the second most popular language in the world according to TOIBE. It's simple and elegant, doesn't overcomplicate things. It's a very powerful tool in the hands of someone who understands the language well. It was never designed to be a kitchen sink language with all the features in the world. Rather it's based on the philosophy of building your own tools and libraries once and then using those to create more complex abstractions. I love C, C ain't going anywhere.

I personally love it for it's simplicity. and like to think of it as a sort of 'portable assembly'.

Unfortunately coding body shops and other companies with developers will disagree because according to them if you can't OOP, you're worthless.
