VM Connection Intermittent

I'm having problems with the VM connection being erratic. One minute it is absolutely superb (like 200bps) and the next it is pathetic (like 20bps)

Also, I sometime have to disconnect and reconnect to get it to work.

Any VM Data Dudes on this forum. They need to be here like MTN Data Dude.
 
Yes, last night i got my VM sim, popped it in my cell, hooked it up to my laptop, connected first attempt with the multinet software surfed for a while and thought it was pretty cool. Disconnected, made me a cup of coffee, and went back to my laptop. Tried to connect again but was unsuccessful and i couldn't get it to connect since. Was there something wrong with the network or did i break it or something?

Must be a bad VM signal, I have no problems opening gmail through VM here in Durban.

I wish that Virgin could get their network stable. All I want is about 10 kilobytes a second day or night. They could own the home market if they could just get their stability right. Hopefully the second network operator will allow them to buy more bandwidth cheaply. Or it might be that their towers need an upgrade or they need more towers?

They don't have any towers, at all. The piggy back off the Cell C network which in turn rides on VC's back from time to time.

They're called a Virtual Network Operator or VNO.
 
Vm network was unusable last night on both my phone and on pc :(. But vc worked ok, but it stopped working when the "guess" balance reached zero even though my actual balance on vc was R3 after i disconnected :(.
 
VM has been very bad since last week Friday- do not know if it just in the eastrand .

Been getting the runaround since the weekend. Waiting for Rugen fron IT department to phone back.


All I want is my internet back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I've had virgin for nearly 2 months now, and its definatley eratic.
Its works, it dont, its slow, its fast, it connects it dont, its all over the bloody place.....

One little tip that has works for me..... some times it doesnt connect when using windows dial=up ( often i get PPP error). So, (sometimes) i connect through my mobile phone software (easyGPRS), and then it connects... which is exactly what i did now (and have done on several occasions before).

.... so having the 2 connection options can help.
