I have tried everything to use vm for GPRS dial-up using both Motorola V3 and V600 cellphones. I have entered the dial-up information as provided by vm, including init string etc, but after connecting and going through the verification process the connection is dropped, with a PPP link failure message.
Is anyone running either of these phones as a gprs modem or has anyone been through this?
Hopeful

You’re setting it up wrong. Manual is Not the way to go. With your data cable you were supposed to have got a CD of some kind. Slap it in and use the Wireless Modem / GPRS Modem / whatever it’s called - setup to let the PC set it up for you. Restart your PC afterwards. Good luck!

Hallzen, welcome to all the virgins! :D Hope you get it right, it's worth the little hassle. I'm on virgin too, and without problems. Enjoy

Setting up my VM connection+SIM was a freaking pain too. Worth a bit of stress though cause it's working nicely+inexpensively now.

PhoneTools is the Program for Motorola... work great too

Other than that, don't forget to put vdata as your APN or you will get no where

Anybody know the settings to use the VM prepaid card with the e220 usb modem?
I also get the PPP link failure message.

Thanx

Nevermind the vdata as as my APN was my problem. Works like a dream now!
