Hi,

I know there should be a couple of these threads and a quick search didn't give me anything and I am to much of a hurry to get this fixed.

The user had a old usb modem, K3570. I wanted to give him a new one, the K4505z, as he is having problems with that one. The software ver installed for the old ons was V9.3something. So, when I plugged in the new one, it wanted to load ver9.44something. It uninstalled the old ver and then just before it finished the new one, where it says Starting services, it stops and says, rolling back changes(or something).

So, I downloaded the new ver10.something and it is doing the same.

I know I have the option to use MDMA, but I don't know where to find the drivers and I am pretty sure the user would want the VMC software instead.

What can I do to solve this?

Found the problem.

A couple of weeks ago, the user was complaining about his laptop being slow. So, I found one of those "tweaking" websites and one of the things it told you to do was disable unnecessary services. So, I changed all the services that was disabled to automatic and boom, it worked. I don't know which services it was and don't have the time to find out.

I had the same problem with the k3570-z i got with the vodacom internet starter pack. It comes with version 10.someting-or-other. Vodashop told me to download ver 9.4. That installed ok, but did not support my modem. My remedy was to do a long overdue format and reinstall of windows. That seemed to solve my problem somehow....
