Strange thing happening to my notebook and VMCC when it's connected to the net via GPRS after 1 minute the card crashes (alternate flashing LED's) and then the notebook has a memory dump, and reboots.

Funny thing is when I connected this morning via 3G, had no issues at all.

I am currently travelling through the Karoo, hence no 3G. Tried changing from a 3G preffered profile to a GPRS only profile, and the same thing happens.

Now here's the interesting part, if I connect to the net using my 6680 via GPRS, all works hunky dory, and I've been connected for nearly 3 hours now with no problem - except for the speed of course, although for GPRS it's not that bad I suppose...

Definately seems to be an issue with the VMCC, I am using ver. 6 of the smashboard, and have firmware version 3.1.8 loaded on the card, and as far as I know these are the latest versions of both?

Has anyone else experienced something like/similar to this? I wonder if it's not something specific to the base station that I am connecting to?

Will call 155 and see if they can help?

Called 155, and problem solved, seems as if the Host controller's software was corrupt, uninstalled it from the Device Manager, and rebooted, and re-inserted the datacard, the software re-installed, and all seems OK now...
