I've had some difficulties with Vodacare in Westgate shopping centre.
The people that work there, including the manager are exceptionally rude, and have no desire to help their Customers....

The long story....

My dad bought two contracts from Vodacom4U in Clearwater Mall about 4 months ago. One for himself and one for me.
He was riding on his motorbike on the highway about a month ago, and got caught in one of the thundestorms we have been having.
Unfortunately, he had his phone in his jacket pocket (Bit dof, yes).
Took the phone to Vodacom4U, they said we need to take it to Vodacare in Westgate. They do the repairs. I told the truth and said it was water damage.

Bear in mind that when the phone dried out, I put my phone battery (the battery on the water damaged phone is buggered) in and the water damaged phone came on.
The backlight was not working, and it won't read a SIM card. I guess the Sim card reader is stuffed. But the phone still worked.

Took it to Vodacare two weeks ago. They charged R57 for a quote, which is ok I suppose. They said they would respond in 48 hours. That was 2 weeks ago.

Anyway, here's the problem. When I was in the shop to hand the phone in for a quote, about 5 people arrived. They all seemed to come from the same marketing company. From what I heard, they all got caught in the rain during a conference or something. They were obviously there for repairs.

BTW, they give no warranty on repairs. Not even a 24 hour warranty.
At one point the manager shouted at the one lady, that if she didn't like it, she must leave. These guys were willing to pay extra to get some sort of warranty. The people in the shop were exceptionally rude.

I phoned them today, and asked why they hadn't contacted me.
The lady on the other end stated that "The technician says it can't be repaired because the battery is water logged". Her exact words.

Call me funny, but you don't repair batteries, you replace them. About R400.
Without getting angry or shouting, I explained, that I had put a battery in the phone and it had turned on. The technician must check it again.

"Eish"....... was the response.

So whether they were trying to use the whole ""Bull**** baffles brains", I don't know.

I have reported this to Vodacom Customer Care. So they'll follow up.

WORD OF ADVICE........ DON'T use Vodacare Westgate. All smiles when you buy a new contract. Aweful aftersales.

Just remember, This isn't a knock against Vodacom. It's a complaint against one of the SP's.
