Vodacom 128k SIM can't be activated?

So I ask for a SIM swap to a 128k SIM, issued the SIM and told it'll be active shortly.

They then phone and say that they think a 128k SIM won't work in my phone and I need a 64k.

Can some phones not accept a 128k?
Are they only for certain circumstances?

Hello Dobly. I just looked back to the memo we got in 2009 regarding the 128K sim. It says it is available for all contract, prepaid and top up clients for sim swops ONLY! I dont see why there should a be a issue. Are you prepaid or contract?
