I know it is free, so dont want to complain. But any idea why half of the sms I send isn't going through? Even to my cellphone thats on with a signal.

the msg is not "pending" but "submitted"

A few other people I spoke to, has encounterd the same problem.

everythin i send gets delayed... its got like a random generator... from 5min delay to like 5hours delayed!!! me use my phone to send smss or rather IM nowadays...

IM is much better, but sometimes the other person aint online, and who likes to pay for things when they can get it for free... what bothers me is that sumtimes, even if the report page on vodacom4me shows delivered the message actually never gets delivered

Presumably you're referring to the 20 SMSes offered free on vodacom4me.co.za?

I haven't sent any today, but haven't had a problem yet with delays or non-delivery to other Vodacom customers...

IM is much better than SMSes.

I've noticed "Submitted" means "Delivered" a lot of the time when I use www.free082sms.co.za (it goes through vodacom4me.co.za)... But it is confusing - I wish it said something more useful than "Submitted".

At one time the networks didn't guarantee SMS's would be received for 24hrs. I don't know if this is still the case. They still use only spare capacity of the system..

hang on a minute, where do we get free sms's? i know we are getting 20% more airtime when we recharge or something.

today i heard that if you are with mtn and you enter your id number you get free airtime or something, why don't we have this?

you logon to v4me website and send your free messages from there, i like to log in with opera mini, and sms freely via my phone.

I do agree however IM is best. Wich all my friends and colleagues were on IM.
