Hi Guys hope you can help.
Whenever I connect with my 3g E220 dongle to do remote support via a vpn and I use remote desktop to connect to the remote host the connection times out.
I f I do the same over Ethernet no problems - until you open a 3g connection - then the remote session freezes up and times out

Any advice

Regards

Hi

Get Vodacom to provision the sim card with "vpn" and then change your 3G connectuion profiles apn name to internetvpn

Hopes this helps

internet APN is already set to give you a routable address and remove the NAT problem the internetvpn APN was setup to work around. i.e. inernetvpn APN is not going to solve your problem.

What is the Ethernet connection you are referring to as in what are you connecting through to VPN and then RDP?

Hi Fanie

I had similar problems before and was able to fix it like so:

Go to the Networking section of your VPN connection properties.
Go to the properties for Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
Click on advanced
Uncheck "Use default gateway on remote network"
Click OK on all open networking related forms

Hope it helps.

Adios

Hi to clarify - if I work from our office with via our office network, vpn ( Firepass) into the client site and then rdp to the server - same goes if I am on the client site and rdp via their ethernet to server and open a 3g session on my laptop as well( we do not have internet access at the sites) - the rdp drops/freezes - rst of the connections is fine have tested it on my home network rdp via ethernet no problems - open the 3 g connection simmultainiously and it fails.

As a side note - used to work and then stoped - still works from other CE's laptops....
