Vodacom 3G issue cape town?

Delete proxy settings.

Had problems in Lakeside and camps bay yesterday and today as well! Kept getting proxy errors:wtf: and slow browsing

The configuration settings sent by VC sets your proxy to 196.006.128.012 with port 8080.
I had a similar issue a few weeks ago. VC came back stating they changed some settings and I should clear browser cache and cookies. That worked but then Thursday the problems came back.
I phoned the helpline on 182155 but they just sent the config files again.

I then cleared the proxy and Port values. hey Presto everything fast with no lag.

My guess is the proxy is the vlive proxy server. Free browsing but pay for download.
This method I guess circumvents the proxy thus you pay for browsing as well. It's faster so I'd rather pay.

Go to Settings, More Settings, Mobile Networks, Access Point Names. Open Wap.Vodacom Apn settings and delete the 196.006.128.012 and the port 8080 settings.
Press the menu button (bottom left next to Home button). Select Save.
The H+ will go away and reappear a few seconds later as the phone connects to the other server.

Enjoy.

Already tried that earlier today and it just failed to connect at all! Perhaps the tower I was on in lakeside was being funny, I'll try again now that I'm home and see if it works.
