Vodacom admits Nokia E90 unavailable

Does anyone here know the Nokia "secret" code to get the date of manufacture for the E90? The code for the older Nokia models give the life time only. Google has not helped to date.

Mmmm im not sure, Ill try to find out.
Its not *#0000# ? Is it?

Still no E90 from Vodashop. Got a call last week to say (again) they should receive stock Thursday/Friday (They said the same last week and still we wait!).

Celebrations! Got a call from the local Vodashop this afternoon and am now the excited owner of a new E90 Mocha (the only colour available at present it would seem). Still charging but I'll keep you posted - I hope the phone lives up to expectations!

Be carefull all stock was recalled due to faults and faults were being repaired with faulty parts. If not grey don't expect before January.

Some phones will no doubt make it back into the system sooner but will be repaired or you have just not experienced problems yet.

There is a code to check airtime even if call timers have been reset, insist they show you a zero counter.

Tried that and the following came up:
V 07.24.0.3
12-06-2007
RA-6
Nokia E90 01

I just got this phone from Metro and they said that they had just received the stock on Wednesday and that it was new stock.

I had my doubts initially and now these have been re-inforced.

This is obviously one of the older models that were recalled. How is it that they can still be selling these if this is the case and what recourse do I have?

Theres a guy on MTN on this forum from EL. He says he has the new E90 with modified rubbers and inner screen. The date above is the date the software was made.
