My wife got a huawei p8 lite. all her incoming calls displays as private number. See phoned vodacom a few times and went to a vodashop twice. They all tell her after a hour restart the phone and all will be happy ever after. Not this time.

Any advise please.

Yeah, she just needs to phone them and get them to activate Caller Line Identification ... it's basically a mandatory extra cost they tell you about while signing the contract (something nominal like R25 I think), but they forgot to activate it for me when my line was activated. One phonecall to their call centre sorted it out :)

I had the same problem awhile ago. Turns out my CLI needed to be activated on Vodacom's side. It's an extra R9.50/month.

Prepaid or postpaid?

If postpaid you have your answer already.

as mentioned, 2 phone calls all ready.

at any of those calls have you asked them is CLI active?

As everyone mentioned this is sitting with vodacom, there is no setting on the phone to stop numbers form displaying Only option to hide your number.

when she phones you does her number display on your phone? ive noticed sometimes if cli isn't active it hides your number as well

Some contracts get CLI for free. 111 activated the paid R9.50 CLI for me but when I queried another consultant was very friendly actyally and helped me. She activated the CLI Free Service for me so just make sure to ask why your CLI is not free especially if the advertise it to inlude CLI. ;)

Never understood why on contract you have to pay for CLI but prepaid it's free.

Yeah just the usual VC sneakiness. Ask them to enable CLI and pay the extra 7 bucks per month
