Vodacom and ABSA

Did you port or has this number always been on Vodacom?

Ported from MTN - but that was 2/3 years ago... went from VC prepaid to VC contract in December - but its only been a problem now.

Strangely, I got this this morning:
Vodacom Customer Care said:
Kindly be advised that I have escalated your request to our Port Support Desk for further assistance. (with ref no)

I tried ABSA internet banking a few minutes ago and it worked - first time in ages, yet yesterday afternoon it wasn't work... damn annoying.

I just had a missed call from one of those short VC numbers... I'm assuming they testing if my phone is on the network :p

ABSA also do emailing of the RVN/TVN numbers - I think I might switch over to that.

What I find interesting is that its a lot more frequent with the ABSA SMS's than anything else... its the only place I've picked up a problem.

*sigh*

I tried yesterday at it worked. I then got a call from Vodacom saying that it was working.

This morning I received an SMS stating the routing issue with internet banking messages was resolved and the issue has been closed. Just to confirm once more, I logged onto internet banking, received the internet banking logon message. I then tried to add a beneficiary and am still waiting for the multiple TVN/RVN messages I requested... 15min and counting. In that time I've called voicemail, force checked my email, and had an email pushed to my phone - so my phone is definitely on the network, despite previous claims.

I've let Vodacom/ABSA know it isn't working - but this is getting frustrating - how can it just stop working a month ago.

FFS - Vodacom now say that the problem lies with the WASP ABSA use, and them not delivering the message in good time.

So...

ABSA blame Vodacom
Vodacom blame ABSA

and instead of talking to each other, I have to sit in the middle and communicate the blame to each of them.

I've now told ABSA I want these bloody messages emailed to me.

[email protected]... thats what my cousin did when he went overseas.

Yeh - they make you sign a indemnity saying they take no responsibility if your account is hacked into if you use this method, with ABSA's level of incompetence I am not signing that.

I ONLY get ABSA related phishing emails to the address they have on file for my statements and communication - they are the only people who use that email address - kind of convienient that I'd get phishing emails related to ABSA and no other bank.

On Friday I lost it with this useless excuse for a bank - I'm opening an FNB account and will just have to endure double bank charges for a year. Strangely, FNB send a OTP SMS when filling in the application form, I got that immediately
