Sometimes Vodacom is just a pain in the posterior – a mate of mine living in Auz just sent me his old BlackBerry (nice friend eh!). I didn’t really want to use it on my existing contract as its only method of making and answering calls is with a headset and lets face it – nobody looks cool talking into thin air. I go to Vodacom and we finally sort out a few problems, something to do with it being a used BB from overseas, blah blah blah.
My hope was that I’d sign up for the cheapest contract package which is the Messenger and keep using my existing one for calls etc. You’ve got to understand – I don’t know if I’m even going to like this BB thing – lets fact it – they’re not exactly small and sleek. But r40 for Messenger + the r150 for BB isn't too bad and I'm sure my work will cover it no probs.
All is looking good until Vodacom, in their infinite wisdom, say they will only let me have the messenger if I sign a 2 year contract. With number portability around the corner there’s no way I’m signing that.So for the short term I’ve forwarded all my contract calls to a pay-as-you-go phone but its not an idea solution.
Anyone got any ideas?
