Shot in the dark this, but does anyone know what symbology Vodacom employs in the encoding of ICCIDs on their starterpack packaging?
That's the 20-character number starting with '89', I don't mean the so-called 2d barcodes, those are PDF417s, but the 1d, individually encoded barcodes.

We've just upgraded some scanners, from Symbol model LS4000 to LS4208, and the out-of-box config no longer works.

I thought that was probably a bit obscure to post here, in case anyone else ever struggles with this, the answer is Code 128.
If you're intent on scanning barcodes on Vodacom packaging, do not opt for Symbol scanner model 4208, do opt for an older Symbol model 4000 or a Zebex, model Z3501, you can buy this from Pinnacle Micro.
