What is the deal with roaming on Vodacom BIS? Will I incur additional charges if I use my device as usual overseas?

I don't know the exact charges, but I hear it can be quite costly. I would imagine the exact cost would depend on your destination. I personally turn it off when out the country.

It depends on what country you visit. When I'm in the UK I pay R17.50 per mb on Vodafone.

Use the info mentioned by ID_10_T so you know what network to select. Make sure you lock that selection in when you get there otherwise you might get an unpleasant surprise if you hop to a different network

On the plus side the data for a BB is heavily compressed so a mb goes pretty far. That said turning off images and stylesheets might help save some money.

Whoa! Thanks for the heads up, that could easily turn nasty. How do I prevent the device from accessing BIS or pushing emails?

Under options, mobile network, just turn data off when roaming
