Vodacom BIS - still slow

I just tried to do a speedtest on my BB 9000, since I haven't been using it since the BIS "upgrades". With full 3G signal, I got the glorious download speed of 7.1kbps. WTF?

I'm also in PTA. Running it as I write thi, 3G, 70Kbits/s.

Pathetic. Where is the Vodacom dude?

Does Vodacom have Edge? I'm thinking of getting the new 8520 from Vodacom, but the phone doesn't have 3G. And if Vodacom don't have Edge, normal GPRS will be too slow.
