for the last three days my BIS has not worked. I don't receive any e-mails neither could i send any :mad:
tried calling the customer support people @ 082155 but no real help. Does any one else have same issues on Vodacom network. Is this a network problem or a problem on my device. Am on prepaid... and howz MTN doing? is it worth going for a swop with MTN?
 
Call 155 again and ask them to send you service books.Make sure BIS is active and your email icon appears on screen.Once you receive the Service Books Reboot the phone by removing the battery while phone is on.....Hopes this helps
 
I tried every possible thing in the world. Sent the service books 'n' number of times, it does not want to work. when i check the status in service status under manage connections for BIS it says not connected.
The new thing i notice is that the BB logo goes missing next to 3G. This is crap service from Vodocom.
 
the crazy thing is my BIS activates itself for a couple hours in a day and goes missing all in a sudden. Yes, they say my BIS subscription is active at their end.
I use a Storm 2 9550, got it from US. has this got to do anything with the problem. But i had the BIS working fine for 4 months.
 
You should be using @ least a 32k sim card.If you are using anything older that IS the problem. IT might be area specific.
Are other vodacom bb user in the area that you know of
 
I believe that it was not a device problem as i've been using this for 5 months without problems. Yeah did check with another friend of mine who lives in a nearby suburb not too close though, he had similar problems 2 weeks ago on top of it he is a contract customer. So this is some fault with the network i believe. Guys anyone with MTN ? Howz MTN BIS?
Since last evening my BIS has been live with no problems :)
 
Oh does sound like a network problem. No problems with bis since January on MTN (a bit slow at night this week but seems back to normal) never had bis go missing though.
 
nice to know that MTN is better than vodacom. checked with the MTN guys this evening and it seems i can even port my vodacom number to MTN network. That will be awesome.

hey guys. i had the exact same problem with my BB 9550 on vodacom has the MTN one given you any success?

If Virgin had the service I would jump on it like a kitty cat on cat nip

I beg of you, they are the worst company on the planet. Please man I am warning you, dont do it.
Rather battle it out with Vodascum.
I ported my number from Voda to MTN, worst move I ever made, also on BB BIS bold 9700.
 
I can counter that argument - please don't go to Vodacom ever, the worst company I have ever dealt with. They have no respect for their customers and no decency whatsoever. It makes no difference which network you go with they both rip you off, although neither is 1/10th as bad as Virgin (I've been with all the networks and MTN messed me up the least so that's why I'm still with them).
 
I've had it with Vodacom they a bunch of liars.... I have called the Data Help Desk for the last 3months or 4months not weekly but on a daily basis explaining to them the situation of this (fk up base station in my area) everyday at a certain hour let's say 1am -5am no traffic will be going through the basestaion data traffic)... I have called them more than 100times and still no contact from their pathetic network guys.... I am now with MTN the best BIS option out their and even faster, all my friends jumped and they much more happy with their BIS servive.. They use it as alternative. We barely ever make calls always on BBM, etc.... I agree with oronte (Vodacom are the worst ever)) they've sooo much money but don't fix the infrastructure.. I know people in Sunnihill who also are not happy with them and in other areas....(They should stop lying and telling the customer the truth). I even asked the field technician come to my place and be with me.. He just said he'll come back to me... I hope CellC does a better job when they offer BIS.
