Hey peeps

Anyone currently making use of the Vodacom Broadband Connect Wireless service? If yes, any good?

Busy looking at it for a client, pricing seems reasonable for 10:1 and 10 down/5 up at R2k p/m.

Thanks!

Thought I'd bump this in the hope of finding anyone that might help...

I've been trying to get in touch with Vodacom Business for nearly 3 weeks now to get more info on their Broadband Connect Fibre & Wireless offerings, I've submitted two enquiries online with the intention of having Vodacom call me back, have two reference numbers, had one lady call me back and try tell me that the wireless offering, which according to the website is delivered using licenced Radwin equipment is in fact delivered over LTE and after I pointed out she was wrong said she would get a technical specialist to contact me.

I've PM'ed VodacomData three times as well (I appreciate the man is trying to assist) , but still zero progress since the 1st call back, haven't heard a thing since.

So, anyone here have a contact within Vodacom that can assist me? Client is ready to sign up and spend the money for their service.

Many thanks!

Got the BBC Wireless service installed for a client after 4 months of calls/emails/meetings... to the point of the client having to drive to the local Vodacom PE offices and sit down with the branch manager as Vodacom couldn't commit to an install date.

Once installed, product and support was rubbish, static IP's supplied wouldn't route anywhere half the time, internet would just stop functioning for a day, getting through to senior technical support to resolve was a nightmare.

Client eventually gave up as the connection was more down than up and removed the equipment. Would not recommend it to anyone.

I have been waiting for a sales agent from Vodacom Business to call me for a month now, regarding microwave links. Amelia from Vodacom keeps emailing me to ask if I am happy with the service, but I still don't even have the pricing as yet. So they seem very organised. Gave up on Vodacom.

I'm on Satellite but from next month they plan to start offering it as a change. It works out to half the price for the data, OOB rates are a lot cheaper and equipment and install R2k vs R10k+.

Anyone having success with it? I get my sat from Vodacom via a 3rd party so I don't deal directly with Vodacom Business, they do it on my behalf along with all their other Vodacom Business customers.

I'm not convinced that I will be able to get it though. According to the coverage map I can only get sat and EDGE. The whole area is covered by 3G EXCEPT a 100m radius around my house/office. But I know for a fact there is no 3G within 2Km radius. The Lite wireless service stops about 3Km from me. I do have a high point where I have a pump house and electricity. If all else fails I will extend my 5Ghz wifi to this point (1km so no mini dish needed).

Vodacom has them. I have authorised them to do a theoretical feasibility test. If they think its ok they will physically do a site test.

I have spoken to a number of companies after putting in a request at wapa. A few replied but they don't have coverage.
