For the the past few months Vodacom signal has been bad and many times down completely.

I've reported it to Vodacom and their reply is that a tower will be built, but due to complications outside their control, they don't know when it will be build.

I unfortunately signed a contract with them.

My rights as their client is to pay, regardless of outages or their duration.

What really grates me, is that the most they are prepared to do for me is to offer an apology.

Do I really have no rights in this relationship?

When coverage goes down multiple times a day, they update the coverage page to show the last time it went down.

This makes it seem like there has only been a single outage and that it's not that serious.

I have signal at work, but at home has been a real challenge. I'm on leave and can't use the network that I have paid for, and had to buy airtime and data from a different provider.

what does their coverage say?
Regardless of my emails to Vodacom there are still no improvement on their services.
UNFORTUNATELY, This is also the case for MTN, which is even worse!!

We constantly keeps experiencing bad or NO SIGNAL at all in Modjadjiskloof, Limpopo Province.

We are a small community and totally relied on cellular services. Unfortunately we sometimes are DAYS without ANY SIGNAL, hence no way to communicate either by cellphone or internet. The one and only internet provider in town is also so unreliable (and have the menopely to do abselutely what it wants) but at least we are able to make whatsapp calls. The lack of sufficient signal directly impacts on the whole community, Business as well as Private.

I am so frustrated and do not know what or where else to go?!

It's the case for all the networks. Not only vodacon.

In the past I have bought a prepaid sim card (Voda, Mtn etc) and tested the signal in the area I live in to see the quality and then only I sign up a contract. Maybe this might help in the future.

Maybe just wait a bit before you jump ship, vodacom seems to be having big issues today as they apparently suffered infrastructure damage.

Our whole network is down as we run on vodacom.

Where are you located?

Edit: old thread only saw now, you still having issues?

I want to help solve this problem, but first I need the Town Planning Scheme of Greater Lataba Municipality. Their website is down. If you feel passionately about it perhaps you could stop at the Municipality and get a copy of their scheme for me so I can see where a tower would be allowed?

Also your town is in desperate need of some alternative transmission route. If this farmer has 3 phase power at this point -23.690115° 30.180708° it would be a good option for a high site. Your town only has 1 LOS transmission site so there is no redundancy, if any site goes down in the chain then your town goes down regardless of load shedding.

Which area is this in?

I suppose this is an old thread, but Vodacom don’t care at all!! I’ve been reporting the same problem for the last year. All I ever get is some random person (who knows nothing) phoning at random times to say they will log a call. Repeatedly! The people who run this company should be ashamed and embarrassed!!

And on 1 April contract prices go up. I've had to get a sim from a different network because Vodacom goes down so often.
Now I'm going to pay more for their lack of service.
