Hi all

i just logged on the vodacom app and checked my balance. I find that the Smart M+ contract price has increased from R469 to R499. Im sure that an increase of 1% VAT does not equate to R30. the 1% increase in VAT should give me a total of R474.

Vodacom has not sent indication they are increasing prices nor has any news appeared online regarding price changes. Only VAT changes

Can anyone confirm if their account price has changed as well

Thanks

Update

Spoke to vodacom today and agent says that the new Smart M+ price is R499. She says Vodacom has sent out communication of the price increase, but i have received nothing containing R499 price increase. She says they sent out SMS's but also nothing..

Vodacom hasn't given any further communication to price has changed yet they have already changed billing amount for subscribers.

I actually received an sms dated 28 Mar 2018 to this effect, however navigating to the link for full pricing shows Smart M+ as R474 VAT incl.

Link is http://voda.com/prices2018

I'll be happy to forward you the sms in private if you would like to send it to them. The screenshot of the pricing you can obviously see for yourself.

I think all smart packages has changed. My smart s+ has increased also. Don't know exact price as I'm paying for device also. However, they tried to sweeten it by increasing the monthly data allocation. They added 150mb more per month. So check your balances, you'll be getting more data. I also was not happy about this especially mid contract. Maybe Ockie can enlighten us.

Also Ockie , i just noticed on the app under current invoice due, there's 2 device instalments on my account. What's this about? I do not have 2 devices. Hope it's a billing error and they do not debit me for this.

Howzit. Yes, the prices on the Smart + plans did increase. I suggest you guys look on the Vodacom website at the packages. I got a memo notification about it, but when I try and open it on the knowledge base system it gives a error when I try and open it. Just do a google search for Vodacom Smart S/M/L + and it should take you directly to the package page where it details the price and what is included per month minute and data wise.

As for the two handset installments .... yes, that is a system display error. I noticed the same yesterday while I was looking at the proposed invoices for one of my corporate client on queries he had on a few of their lines. It is a system display error only.....on the actual invoice you are billed correctly and it shows only once as it is supposed to.

Hi Ockie

As many of us didnt get the sms or email that vodacom was increasing their prices of smart packages, other than VAT, this is breach of contract. Vodacom should give customers 20 business days notice. i have not received any communication for the R499 Smart M+ price increase. Even the agent from vodacom assured me the price is R474.

That 20 days business notice is from the vodacom website!

I have the Smart L +, but I do not get 1GB data a month.

Edit: Just check, I am also not paying R706 for my Smart L+, but R595, which might explain it.

So up the rate by R25 and justify it with 150MB data extra.. not 250MB to make 1GB..

Lesson learnt now, when contract ends next october, move to Telkom!!!
