Vodacom data contract

Hi All.

My wife has a tablet which uses a Vodacom sim.

This was originally on a 2gb data contract. This has since expired and now on a month to month setup.

Are these data contracts restricted to data only or can you make calls and receive SMS'S?

As far as i know data is data, but if you have telkom adsl capped acct you can get a sim card linked to the adsl internet account and use the same data there as well and it is free, i have it setup and it WORKS... and i am connecting at LTE speed as well.

Hi. Data contracts you can make calls with. If it is a open ended contract then you will jused get billed for the calls you make seeing there is no included voice minutes with data packages. If on Top Up, you will need to load airtime to make calls as calls cannot be deducted from the data bundle. For those that has got data sims linked to voice lines (with a data bundle attached), those sims are only for data. Cant be used to make or receive calls.
