I'm sitting with a major issue here.

At the beginning of May, I went to the Vodashop in Centurion Mall to add a bolt-on MyGig 2 data bundle to my existing contract. All was well and the attendant at the shop told me the bundle is activated and I can start using the bandwidth.

Roll on end of May, I got a call from Vodacom Customer Services informing me of a high data usage which I would be billed for. I immediately made work of the situation and phoned customer services. I was told that there was no record of any data bundle added to my contract. The Vodashop did indeed have a record of adding the data bundle to my contract. A few phone-calls later, everything was supposedly sorted out - the data-bundle was billed to my account, and I was promised (TWICE!) that the data-usage charge would be credited back to my account.

Well, invoice time came and the data-usage charge (as well as a charge for the bold-on MyGig 2) was on the invoice. So, I figured that it must've been a mistake on their side. Debit-order time at the end of June revealed that it was no mistake - I was charged just scarce of R1900 for the data usage, AS WELL AS the MyGig 2 bolt-on!!!

Well, a few furious phone-calls to Vodacom Customer Care, I realized how incompetent the operators there were (with them receiving a very vocal description from me over the phone). I decided to start sorting this out on my own. The manager at the Vodashop is helpful and they are now (supposedly) sorting this out.

So, any suggestions in sorting this out?

Maybe pm V3g the reference number for the query :o.

were you the guy shouting at the vodacom care centre about the 2GB Contract? :D :D

were you the guy shouting at the vodacom care centre...

Where did you you find a "vodacom care centre"? I know the closest you get to one is V3G, then you get hellopeter, then the Innocuous Communication Authority of South Africa (ICASA), then a couple of other toothless watchdogs, but I've never heard of these guys...

Do they really "care", or did you just read (and believed) their Mission/Vision (mis)statements?
