I am hoping that someone can please help me because I am getting nowhere with Vodacom stores and call centres. On Saturday my phone was working and the SIM card was RICA'd. On Sunday, the SIM magically unregisters itself and stops all communication to my phone. I go to the Vodacom shop by The Glen and they perform a SIM Swap which is supposed to sort out the problem.

It does not. So I ask them to re-RICA my SIM card and lo and behold, the system cannot do that. Phoning 082 1940 is useless because they keep telling me to go to the Vodashop and the Vodashop keeps telling me to call 082 1940.
I am actually at my wits end, does anybody know of a solution?

Call 0821940 from a vodashop.

The guy helping me said that I should call them myself because it is a business line?

Yea, do it from a cellphone (yours, a friends or theirs).

You may have to get rather bitchy to get help if you are not there to give them commission.
I know this first hand.
I stood waiting for some assistance while watching a vodacom guy playing on his phone through the door to the back office.
He actually looked at the line behind me all waiting for assistance a few times.
I noticed a phone on the wall next to him so took a chance and picked up a flier then dialled the number on the flier.
He answered so I told him, Look left. He did, I told him come help your customers and gave him a grin. he did.
If he was serving food I would have ended up with spit in my burger.

My solution was to cancel my Vodacom contract, because they have no idea what is going on with RICA.

My mom took out my contract while I was still studying, and when I started working I moved it to my name. Over the next 6 years, they were not able to update their system correctly, even after multiple RICA's. If I go to the shop, they say its on my name with her ID number, if I call the call centre they say her name with my ID number? I mean really, they don't even look at the same system? Then if I want to do something with the account they say she has to call them. When she wants to do something I have to call them. It's ridiculous. I asked the one store what happens to all the RICA documents, because they have a copy of my ID to check the details. They said it goes to a different company and it has nothing to do with them... So the best solution is to cancel your contracts and move away.

This is what probably happens to it...
