A while back I ported to Cell C but ported back to Vodacom and my stress started this Saturday when i had to restart with a phone.
I have to re-instate Whatsapp, my FNB app and other Apps and I am unable to do so, because I cannot receive SMS's. I can't send SMS's either and when people call me, it does them my number does not exist (I have been using the same number since about 2006) but other numbers can call me and get through.
Saturday I called the call center, the first one helped me change settings, told me to switch off my phone, take out the simcard, put it back, switch on, put on flight mode then take it off and she would call me back within the hour (no call came)
I called again, this one took me through the settings again and checked on her side and told me she would call me back within 10 minutes after i switch off the phone and put it back (call did not come through)
I called again, the 1st person helped me again, she checked more settings then tried calling to see if she could while on the line with me, changed a few more settings, told me to restart and she would call me back. She managed to call me back however nothing changed and she told me to go to my nearest Vodashop and do a sim swop.
Monday morning I arrived at Vodashop and about 2 hours later and no simswop, I walked out being told to wait for 24 hours for the requested settings to take affect and if they don't, to come back. No change.
Tuesday morning I arrived at Vodashop again, this time they checked my settings again, did a simswop and told me to wait 3 hours before putting the new sim card in (Both Monday and Tuesday they tried my simcard in other devices and had the same issue). After 3 hours new card was active and i changed simcards to no affect. I needed to get hold of someone (no whatsapp) so i tried sending a sms and i cannot send out sms's. Work tried calling and was told my number still does not exist.
Can someone please assist and help me as I am at a point of i cannot keep running to the Vodashop as i do need to spend some time doing my own work and i cannot just lose all my Whatsapps that is backed up because i cannot use my own number to verify and start over with a different number.
