Vodacom fax facility number constantly busy

Hi guys

I got a dedicated fax number from Vodacom about 2 years ago. Haven't received any faxes for a while now but when I tested it today the number just goes to a voice message saying the "The subscriber you have dialed is not available at present. Please try again later."

Usually it went through to my normal mobile number's voice mail and then switched to fax reception mode when a fax tone is received.

My normal voice number is 082 x39 xxxx when my fax number looks like this 082 x30 xxxx. Thus two different numbers belonging to me for a single mobile phone. When a fax came through my data reception alert on my cellphone would come up. This hasn't happened for quite some time now. I jus figured people were using my office fax instead. Now I am wondering how many faxes I might have missed...

Did something change on the network? My service provider is VSP.

I don't have another line setup on my phone for receiving faxes so I'm throwing out some guesses. I hope they may be helpfull. I have recieved faxes in the past using the direct to voicemail number (082 131 rest of normal phone number) so maybe you need to setup a fax call divert to you voicemail on your 2nd (fax) line. (you may have to switch your phone over to that line to create the divert).

I now use a free fax to email service which is awesome. It's better than using the vodacom service because you don't have to pay to print out your faxes to a fax machine. Check it out http://www.fax2email.co.za/. They assign you your own fax number in a day of signing up.

Got feedback from VSP and they say there was a problem a couple of months back where some people lost their fax numbers due to a technical glich. They will try and sort me out ASAP. Lets see how long it takes. BTW, this extra number was given to me at no extra charge. I pay for printouts though...
