I live and work in Kuils River, Cape Town and people have started digging trenches on my yard at my office which is not far from my house.
They were busy boring beneath the roads at intersections. (My office is on a corner in a residential area) I asked the guy in charge what the cables were for and he said that it is fibre optic cables for the internet. He says that it is a job they got from Vodacom and Plessey.
For the people familiar with Kuils River, it runs up Kerk Street from Amandel Road through Amandelrug and Rouxville till the reservoir in Haasendal. The cable will be about 50 m from my house.
Does anybody have more info regarding this and what impact it will have on my internet experience?
