Vodacom Fraud

So I got an automated Vetting Application Notification from Vodacom about a week ago at midnight. It bugged me so I logged into the web portal to check on the number in question.

Much to my surprise someone had managed to do an upgrade on data sim and get a phone on a 24 month sub as well as talk time. Normal bill of R108 was already of R1200.

First thing the next morning I went to a Vodacom store to try and resolve, needless to say, they were as unhelpful as possible.

Ended up having to work through the call centre to report the fraud and got a reference number and was told the number would be locked. Promise was made that I would be called back within 48 hours.

Nothing happened.

It's now more than a week later so I called the call centre again. First agents system was offline. Second agent informed me that my case was closed as I had not responded to sms or email from them, which I guess would have been fine if I had ever received anything. Supervisors refused to speak to me as apparently all their systems were also offline.

Anyone have advice on next steps to take?

As I said the first bill was over R1200 which will go off end of the month, interim bill for this month is already of R1000 and Vodacom simply isn't phased.

Sir/Madam - The tried and tested method to resolve your problem is to put in WRITTING and NOT ANY CALL CENTRE. You need to follow these steps.
1) Report this Fraud to your nearest SAPS and obtain a CAS number.
2) Compile an properly constructed email containing this SAPS CAS number to customercare@vodacom.co.za obtaining your Service Reference number. Allowing for 7 working days to resolve.
3) If not resolved within 7 working days fire off an email to ceo@vodacom.co.za with your Service Reference as the first word in the subject line, and SAPS CAS number in the body of your message.
You now have a good chance of big sparks and they will resolve the matter.
Try with this email to change your debit order payment to an EFT as well.
All in your hands now.
