Why do you require two fibre stands ? i have seen it done using one stand using different wavelengths

Yes, with some of the G-PON Head Ends you can have an RF overlay, and then a RF output on the ONT. Unfortunately you can only get a "Single Cable" type output on these, similar to S-Band. Therefore no HD, and no PVR. Not really suitable for residential deployment in the current environment.

To Be fair, I really doubt the DSTV over Fibre is a big selling point. Everyone already has a dish. No-one I know is installing fibre to get rid of the their dish.

Personally, I havent had DSTV for 5 years now, so the point is moot.

The open access pricing that I've seen from Mweb and others is pretty similar to vodacom's pricing. Vodacom are not selling a line price + data price. If you want to get your service from "mweb", then the line and a data cost is billed to you by"mweb". you dont pay 2 providers. Similarly, if there is a fault, you report it to "mweb" not vodacom.

I havent yet seen confirmed uncapped pricing, but if its what mt edgecombe is paying, then its really very good

I won't mind paying those prices for uncapped.

Yeah, not bad at all. Assuming upload is the same speed i would be very happy paying those prices.

Not sure about the upload speeds! Would be awesome if they were the same!!

Yeah, I wonder if they would allow 2 concurrent connections? Could share that 100mb account with a buddy or 2 and make it more affordable.

I have ordered form Vodacom, they have confirmed that the estate I stay in will be getting uncapped but they don't have any info right now. However they will phone me once the uncapped packages for my estate is launched.

Regarding open access they can only confirm that it's open access but no other information. the staff seem to not have all the info yet and some of them don't know what open access is. I have a feeling this will only be available after the initial 24 months contact.

Still bloody awesome!!! Damn man, I'm waiting for the day when I can sit at home and monitor the 16 surveillance cameras at my business, over a line with upload speeds in excess of the meagre 1024kbps Telkom currently provides!!
