Okay,

Ive setup my laptop with the phone and a connection is established via GPRS.

Ive created a dial-up connection with *99# as my number to dial. It connects, but when I try to browse I just get a DNS error.

This does work when I dial to the 082 dial-up number as on the phone, but then it takes per minute costs.

Anyone know why I cant browse or email when it says connected?

Thx :)

I've had this problem myself too, but can't check now while I'm at work.
It's useful to have a competitor's prepaid sim ready to make sure it is your setup and not the network. Also, 3G, maybe post your location by editing your profile under user CP. These problems are often very specific to an area.

Hi. It might be your DNS settings in your connect profile.
To change, what I did was (in XP Pro) click Start, Select Connect to, then Right clicked Vodacom GPRS modem (or whatever it's called in your setup).
Go to the tab called "Networking", highlight "Internet Protocal" (this must also have a tick next to it, in the box).
Click on "Properties" and where it gives you the option to either Obtain DNS server add automatically or manually, select manual and input the following numbers:
168.210.2.2
196.14.239.2

Thats what I was given by a VC rep and it worked for me - hope it works for you...
